Berkeley Lodge is a highly desirable residence in Worthing town centre with nursing and special care for older people experiencing dementia.

The new home reopens in June 2010 and has been entirely rebuilt to provide the most luxurious accommodation in nursing care in West Sussex.

The home offers 65 bedrooms all designed with excellent quality furniture and soft furnishings. Every private bedroom has a plasma screen TV with Sky viewing available, climate control allowing each room to be ambient in temperature according to personal preference.

A private telephone, telephone number and internet connection are ready to use on the day of admission with free unlimited local and national calls only.

I initially qualified as an RGN in Exeter and since then have pursued a career with special interest in palliative care, dementia care and nurse education. My previous roles include setting up a Dementia Helpline, providing telephone counselling and support to carers of people with dementia. I have enjoyed working as a community matron assessing patients with complex medical problems and helping to ensure support and guidance on managing such cases. Most recently I have worked as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a local GP surgery.

My aim is to make the recently reopened and transformed Berkeley Lodge a warm, friendly and clinically excellent home, providing skilled nursing care which is tailored to the individual needs of each resident.
