Rookwood Residential Home is situated in a quiet tree lined avenue close to Burgess Hill town centre, near the shops, bus routes and other amenities. Rookwood is an exceptionally attractive residence for retired ladies and gentlemen and is designed to meet the care needs of those who wish to be in a pleasant, social and well looked after home.

The home has twenty five rooms and each room is centrally heated and comfortably appointed with its own wash hand basin and some rooms have the additional benefit of all en-suite facilities. All rooms have a digital colour television and residents are welcome to bring small items for their personal comfort.

Rookwood has large beautifully maintained gardens with sheltered patio areas for those who wish to enjoy afternoon tea outdoors during the summer and a pleasant sun lounge is available for residents to capture the glory of the gardens in every season.

The dining room has personal table service and provides a quality of catering that is intended to satisfy even the most discerning palate. Meals are served in the dining room for all residents unless there is an individual desire to have bedroom service. A comfortable lounge adjoins the dining room and is regularly used by the residents creating a pleasant communal atmosphere.

Anne has been part of the company of South Coast Nursing Homes for over 25 years. She is now Matron of Rookwood Residential Home and also one of the company directors. Anne is utterly devoted to her residents and supports many other matrons in the group with her experience in elderly care and nursing.

‘Working for South Coast Nursing Homes has been a pivotal part of my life and I have enjoyed every moment. Reaching 50 years as a company has made me feel very proud as I originally began working for George and Joyce Colville who started the company in 1959’
