Our Care

Understanding the difference in care available can be confusing. It is essential you find exactly what you need as well as desire.

To help in clarifying the different types of care we provide at South Coast Nursing Homes we have summarised the services here:

A - Nursing Homes

A Nursing Home provides fully trained and registered nurses 24 hours a day to plan implement and oversee the care given to each patient and their nursing requirements. This means any medical conditions that require any nursing intervention can be accommodated in a Nursing Home. The Nursing Homes provide private bedrooms with en-suite facilities and all the comforts you enjoy at home, it does not feel like a hospital environment although qualified care of that standard is provided.

B - Residential Homes

The care that is received in a Residential Home is provided by experienced care assistants rather than trained nurses. If medical intervention is required then a General Practitioner will come into the home to provide the necessary service. In all our homes we pride ourselves on promoting independence and individuality for each resident. Personal care is planned along with the resident and their families’ involvement; we ensure that all our care staff are fully trained to meet the needs of each resident.

C - EMI Nursing & Residential Home

An EMI Residential and Nursing Home is a dual registered care home that is specifically equipped and trained to care for residents with all stages of dementia. The home provides all the necessary care and equipment to accommodate residents who may require nursing aspects of care alongside the specialised care for dementia sufferers. Dementia amongst the retired and elderly is ever increasing and the care and surroundings they experience are especially important to ensure they are both happy and comfortable.
